This is one of the Oldest Tavern in St. Marys. There was a Tavern in this same building when the canal boats came up the canal and docked at the back door. The first known owner was Louis Koehl then a Mr. Speed from Indiana. He sold it to E.E. Gills and he sold it to Wiss & Williams.
In 1917 John Miller and Bill Huwer purchased it from Tom Border. They continued to operate the tavern as a partnership until September 1950 when Bill Huwer died. John MIller Sr. operated with his son John C. Miller, Jr. until 1953 and sold it to son Ed Miller and son-in-law Lloyd Philpot.(From Leader June, 1973)

- 1950 in Sept. Bill Huwer died. John Miller puchased business from Bill's widow Mary Huwer on Dec. 4, 1950.
- 1951 name changed to Miller's Cafe. Operated by John Sr. & John Jr. Miller.
- 1953 Sold to Ed Miller & Lloyd Philpot
- 1969 Name changed to Millers & Philpot Cafe
- 1984 Ed Miller purchased the business from his brother-in-law, Lloyd Philpot and changed the name back to Miller's Cafe.
- 1990 June 18-J. Ed Miller died, his wife Patricia Ann with family operated the business
- 2010 February 19-Tom and Elaine Purchased Miller's.
